NEWS RELEASE

Knox County – Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation in October 2015 after board members noticed missing funds from Knox County Solid Waste District accounts. Tracy Clinkenbeard, 51, of Vincennes, was the director and responsible for all financial matters.

An Indiana State Police criminal investigation and an audit on the financial records was conducted by the Indiana State Board of Accounts. The investigation revealed that Clinkenbeard had allegedly embezzled more than $100,000 between 2010 and 2015 from the Knox County Solid Waste District without permission and for her personal gain.

Clinkenbeard was arrested yesterday at her residence without incident. She was taken to the Knox County Jail where she is currently being held on a $15,000 cash only bond.
