DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A Boyle County grand jury has indicted a former Danville police officer who was in a wreck while off-duty.
Media outlets report 30-year-old Ryan Hundley was indicted Tuesday on one count of second-degree assault, one count of first-degree wanton endangerment and one count of driving under the influence.
The charges stem from a Feb. 26 wreck in which Hundley admitted to Boyle County sheriff’s deputies that he had been drinking with a friend before getting behind the wheel of his car.
An accident report says Hundley and his friend were heading east on Kentucky Route 2168 when they collided with a pickup truck.
Hundley had been a police officer with the Danville Police Department since August 2013. The department said in a release Wednesday that Hundley had resigned.
