A Florida woman has been arrested following a road rage incident in Indiana.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 12:27 p.m. Wednesday about a road rage incident on northbound U.S. Highway 41 near Boonville-New Harmony Road.
Officials said the driver of a black Lexus became involved in a dispute with the driver of a white GMC . During the encounter, the driver of the GMC allegedly displayed a handgun and threatened to shoot and kill the driver of the Lexus.
After the incident, the GMC continued northbound on U.S. 41 toward Princeton.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies who were assisting with an assignment in the Princeton area were able to locate the suspect vehicle with the assistance of Flock Safety license plate reader technology. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and took the driver into custody without incident.
The driver was identified as Mary Elleman, 44, of Panama City , Florida. During the investigation, deputies recovered a handgun believed to have been used during the incident.
Elleman was transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail and booked on a felony charge of intimidation with a weapon.
