Fire destroys home of Union County family

A Union County family’s home was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon.

Morganfield Fire Chief Rick Millikan tells WMSK News the fire occurred around 4:45 p.m. Friday on SR 669 near Waverly, the home of 46 year old Tina Stone. Also living in the trailer was a 26 year old male, a 21 year old female and a 2 year old child.

According to Chief Millikan, they are staying with family and friends and the American Red Cross is providing assistance.

He reports the Waverly and Whispering Meadows FIre Departments, Union County Fire & Rescue, Union County EMS assisted at the scene. Chief Millikan says the Smith Mills and Corydon Fire Departments stood by to cover the northern end of Union County.
