A felon’s plan melted after authorities located a handgun he stashed inside a local grocery store freezer while fleeing from police.
Evansville Police detectives saw Larry K. Goble, 41, in the 700 block of South Green River Road. Detectives knew Goble had a felony warrant for his arrest.
Police attempted to take Goble into custody, but he fled on foot to a nearby Ruler Foods. He was apprehended inside the grocery store.

Detectives found marijuana on Goble. They also discovered a handgun that Goble hid inside a freezer.
The handgun was recovered and Goble admitted to hiding it because he didn’t want to get caught with the gun. Goble is prohibited from possessing a handgun due to multiple prior felony convictions.
Goble was preliminarily charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful carry of a handgun by a felon.
