Evansville man arrested on auto theft, resisting officers and other charges

An Evansville man has been arrested on auto theft, resisting arrest and other charges after he allegedly fled from police during a traffic stop for speeding.

Evansville Police say 19 year old Donald Brigham Jr was taken into custody after he was pulled over for speeding near Green River and then got out of the vehicle and ran into a nearby neighborhood. When police conducted a check on the vehicle, an officer who was taken a stolen vehicle report heard the information and realized it was the same vehicle. Additional officers and a K-9 unit arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter to conduct a search and found Brigham hiding in a backyard about a block from the traffic stop.

Brigham was treated for a dog bite and then lodged in the Vanderburgh County Detention Center for Auto Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Marijuana and Driving Without a License.
