East End Park in Henderson to be officially opened, dedicated

NEWS RELEASE

HENDERSON, KY, September 21, 2016 – The new City of Henderson park located at 214 Letcher St. will be officially opened and dedicated at a ceremony on Sept. 28.

The short ceremony will include a history of how the park came to be by Board of Commissioners member Robby Mills and remarks by others who helped the project come together.

Henderson County Fiscal Court, the Henderson Rotary and Rotaract clubs and local businessman Dan Fritz were among those who provided funding for the park, which offers playground equipment and restrooms and which is located diagonally from the future home of Audubon Kid Zone.

The park, to be called East End Park, is largely completed, and one of its most popular features with neighborhood children is an interactive splash pad.

The dedication ceremony will start at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 28, and the public is invited to attend.
