HENDERSON, KY (September 3, 2020) – The Downtown Henderson Partnership is excited to announce an old-fashioned movie-going option is coming to downtown Henderson. Saturday evening, September
19, the Field & Main employee parking lot on North Main Street is being transformed into a drive-in movie theater showing a local favorite, A League of Their Own.
“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, fundraising and community events have been negatively impacted not only in our downtown but across the country. Organizations like ours are looking for innovative ways to provide a fun yet safe ways for communities to gather,” stated Downtown Henderson Partnership Executive Director Lindsay Locasto.
The movie will be displayed on a 22-foot by 40-foot screen with sound transmitted through an FM radio system.
Please follow CDC and state social distancing guidelines. Face masks are encouraged. Please be courteous to keep a six-foot distance between you and other families enjoying the film.
The parking lot will open at 6:15 with the movie beginning at approximately 7:30. Food concessions will be available.
The Drive-In is car traffic only, no walk-up traffic. The cost for the event is $20 per vehicle. A limited number of tickets are available and must be purchased in advance at DHP’s website
(downtownhenderson.org). Lawn chairs permitted.
The Downtown Drive-In is sponsored by Field & Main Bank, with additional support provided by the Henderson Tourist Commission and Rotary Club of Henderson.
