Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was reported missing Saturday in Daviess County.
According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to the 43-hundred block of Eastgate Drive in reference to a missing adult. Upon arrival, he spoke to the wife of the missing man who stated her husband had left around 8:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the store. Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, she called police to report him missing.
The release says the deputy started a ping on the missing man’s cell phone and deputies began a search of that area. Deputies later found the man’s vehicle he was last seen in on Kindron Valley Way.
On Sunday, authorities say a deputy went to the Goodwill store located across the street from where the vehicle was found and video showed the man pulling into the parking lot on Kindron Valley Way, crossing the street and walking northbound in front of the Goodwill store where he went out of the view of the camera.
The sheriff’s office says deputies began their search at that located and later found the subject deceased.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed, and at this time the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is withholding the man’s name until next of kin have been notified.
The case is still under investigation.
