DCSO: Elkton man charged in connection to shooting

A Todd County man has been charged in connection to shooting a man in Daviess County early Saturday morning after authorities say he was picked up by officers following a suspicious person call at a convenience store.

The Owensboro Police Department was dispatched to the Quality Quick in the 1000 block of Breckinrdige Street around 12:18 Sunday morning in reference to a suspicious person call. Upon arrival, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports they located 28 year old Jim Bradley Henson in a vehicle after the owner of the vehicle had went inside the convenience store and found Henson in his vehicle and then called police. When police arrived it was determined that Henson was wanted for questioning in a shooting that occurred Saturday morning around 2:40 at a home on Leslie Lane where 38 year old Eric Coots was shot in his right leg.

Henson was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital where he was later arrested by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center charged with first degree assault, four counts of first degree wanton endangerment and other non-related offenses.
