Dawson Springs man injured in single vehicle wreck

NEWS RELEASE

Dawson Springs, KY (Caldwell County) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on KY 672, approximately five miles south of Dawson Springs, on Wednesday, December 30, at 12:41 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that John McCuiston, 64, Dawson Springs, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck with a single-axle enclosed trailer in tow northbound on KY 672, approximately one-half mile south of Amon Lisanby Road. It appears that he fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle.

Mr. McCuiston’s vehicle exited the northbound shoulder of the roadway and struck a drainage pipe. The impact of the collision caused separation of the trailer in tow, which came to rest in a field just off the northbound shoulder of KY 672. Mr. McCuiston’s pickup truck also came to rest in a field just off the northbound shoulder of KY 672.

Mr. McCuiston was transported via ambulance to the Caldwell Medical Center for treatment. He was wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper Ben Sawyer investigated the collision. The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, Caldwell County EMS, and the Princeton Fire Department assisted at the scene.
