Daviess Co. man injured in two-vehicle wreck

Authorities are continuing to investigate a two-vehicle wreck on US 431 in Daviess County that sent a man to the hospital after he had to be extricated from his vehicle.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to the 10-thousand block of US 431 around 6:10 a.m. Saturday where 23 year old Charles Campbell of Central City was driving a pickup truck southbound on US 431 and 66 year old David Kessinger of Utica was driving a car northbound when for unknown reasons they nearly collided head-on in front of the Utica Dollar General Store.

Authorities say Kessinger had to be extricated from his vehicle and was transported by ambulance to Owensboro Health for treatment of severe head and chest injuries. Police indicate Campbell was uninjured in the wreck.
