City of Henderson Board of Zoning Adjustment Grants Two Appeals

NEWS RELEASE

FROM: CITY OF HENDERSON PIO DONNA STINNETT

HENDERSON, KY, April 21, 2016– The City of Henderson Board of Zoning Adjustment granted two appeals at a special-called meeting on Wednesday night in the Municipal Assembly Room, and both were for Habitat for Humanity of Henderson for vacant lots.

The first appeal granted was for a 14-foot front yard setback variance along North Alvasia Street for a new home that Habitat plans to build at 715 Fifth St.

The second appeal was for a similar 14-foot front yard setback variance along North Alves Street for a property located at 621 Fifth St. Habitat also plans a new home there.

There was no opposition to either appeal. Habitat Executive Director Brittney Smith told the board that residents in the area have given her agency positive feedback about the potential new construction “adding extra value to the neighborhood.”

The Habitat requests were the only two items on the board’s agenda.
