Christian County Sheriff’s Department & KSP Conducting Joint Death Investigations

Pembroke, KY (Christian County) – The Christian County Sheriff’s Department and the Kentucky State Police are conducting a joint investigation into the deaths of the individuals that were located yesterday, November 19, in the Pembroke area. Autopsies for the victims are scheduled for today, November 20, at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office, along with the agencies listed, are conducting a death investigation stemming from a vehicle fire earlier today (11.19).

Units were called to a vehicle fire in a field around the 3000 block of Rosetown Rd, just outside of Pembroke, Ky. Pembroke volunteer fire department was the first agency on the scene and advised there may possible human remains in the vehicle. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded along with the Coroner’s office and determined that, in fact, there were human remains in the vehicle which were severely damaged by the fire, along with the car. So far, the information off the vehicle, described as a 4 door mid size sedan, indicates it may be from Christian County. Identification of the remains has not been made at time of this release.

Witnesses say they heard a noise coming from the area around 2:00 am earlier this morning, and the landowner discovered the vehicle at around 8:30 this morning.

Agencies involved are investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire. The vehicle will be removed from the scene so it can be processed.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the vehicle fire/ death investigation from this morning where human remains were found inside a vehicle on fire in a field around the 3000 block of Rosetown Rd. in Christian County.

Investigators were able to locate a vehicle tag from the scene which came back to a residence in Pembroke. Investigators obtained a search warrant for 443 S. Main Street, Pembroke. Officers served the search warrant early this afternoon and located items of evidentiary value along with a decease male on the property, who appeared to have a gunshot wound to the chest. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time; however the Christian County Coroner is on scene at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking into the exact circumstances and connection to the earlier vehicle fire incident and the investigation continues.
