“It is my privilege to present Charah in Louisville with its first Governor’s Safety and Health Award,” said Dep. Sec. Working this many hours without a significant injury is a great achievement, and on behalf of Governor Bevin, I thank you for your hard work and dedication toward maintaining a safe working environment.”

With over 650 employees across the nation including over 100 in the Louisville area, Charah assists utilities with all aspects of managing and recycling ash byproducts generated from the combustion of coal in the production of electricity.
“We are honored to receive this award from the Kentucky Labor Cabinet in recognition of our commitment to safety,” said Charles Price, President and CEO of Charah. “Safety is more than a priority at Charah – it is a way of life. State Representative Jerry T. Miller also praised Charah Inc. on the accomplishment.
“I want to congratulate Charah on the success of receiving the Governor’s Safety and Health Award,” Rep. Miller said. “Charah has worked tirelessly to ensure a safe environment for their employees, but it is those very employees that make this recognition possible. This is yet another example of the dedicated workforce we have right here in Louisville. I want to thank Charah for their continued commitment to a safe and healthy work environment, and I look forward to further accomplishments from them in the future.”
The Kentucky Labor Cabinet presents the Governor’s Safety and Health Award to highlight outstanding safety and health performance in Kentucky’s workplaces. A business may qualify for the award if its employees achieve a required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost time injury or illness. The required number of hours is dependent upon the number of employees.
