CARDINALS PLACE MILES MIKOLAS ON INJURED LIST; RELIEVER JUNIOR FERNANDEZ RECALLED FROM MEMPHIS (AAA)

St. Louis, Mo., May 23, 2021 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight’ series finale with the Cubs, that they have placed right-handed pitcher Miles Mikolas (right forearm tightness) on the 10-day Injured List and recalled right-handed reliever Junior Fernandez from Memphis (AAA).

Mikolas, who was removed from last night’s game after 4.0 innings of work, was making his first appearance in the majors since the 2019 N.L.
