UPDATE: The boil water advisory issued on Tuesday for Beech Grove and Sebree has been lifted as of Thursday morning.

The City of Henderson recommends that people flush their plumbing by running cold water for at least 5 minutes, running enough hot water to completely replace at least one full volume of all lines and tanks, dumping existing ice bins, and replacing water filters.

Henderson Water Utility has issued a boil water advisory for the cities of Beech Grove and Sebree.

Henderson Water Utility officials said they have located a water main break affecting the two communities and are working to repair the leak as of Tuesday morning.

In the meantime, HWU advised people to use bottled or boiled water for drinking, preparing, and cooking food.

Water should be brought to a full rolling boil for at least five minutes and then cooled before drinking. Water is okay for bathing, washing, and other common uses.

HWU said they are aware that some customers are without water and is working to restore service as quickly as possible.

The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the repairs are complete and laboratory samples have been tested and deemed safe.  If you have any questions, please contact HWU at 270-826-2824.
