Drunk driver charged with dealing LSD and marijuana

Authorities in Vanderburgh County, Indiana arrested a driver found asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in the roadway for dealing LSD and marijuana.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office reports to WMSK News that deputies responded to the area of Mill Road and Folz Road to check on a stalled vehicle in the road and found 23 year old Joshua Randall Woods of Evansville asleep behind the wheel with the car’s engine running and in gear.

When the deputy awakened the driver, he reportedly smelled alcohol and the odor of marijuana in the vehicle. Authorities say Woods admitted that he had been at a bar drinking and was his way home, but denied having smoked any marijuana.

According to the report, a search of the vehicle revealed 131 individual “hits” of LSD, nearly a quarter pound of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as nearly 8-thousand dollars in cash, all of which was seized by police.

Woods was taken into custody and lodged in the Vanderburgh County Detention Center for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, Dealing Marijuana and Dealing a Schedule One Controlled Substance.
