4 Henderson residents injured in 2-vehicle wreck

Four Henderson residents were injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Robards Wednesday.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, 45 year old Melissa Carroll was driving north on US 41 South when 67 year old Evan Abbott attempted to cross US 41 South in his pickup truck and pulled into the path of Carroll’s car.

Evans reportedly told authorities he did not see Carroll’s vehicle when he pulled into the intersection, and Carroll stated when she saw Abbott pull out in front of her she swerved to avoid the collision, but was unable to do so.

The report says one of two passengers in Carroll’s vehicle, 53 year old Kelvin Ingram had to be extricated from the car. Carroll, Ingram and the second passenger in her vehicle, 54 year old Margaret Ingram, along with Abbott were all transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital Henderson County for evaluation and treatment of injuries.

The sheriff’s office indicates US 41 South was closed for approximately 45 minutes for the investigation of the crash and clean-up.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Kentucky State Police, Henderson County EMS, Robards and Niagara Fire Departments and Henderson City/County Rescue Squad.
