2 more arrested in connection with slain missing woman

CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (AP) — Two more arrests have been made in connection with the death of a missing woman whose remains were found in a Shelby County soybean field last week.

Multiple media outlets report that 24-year-old Megan Elston and 30-year-old Bethany Thomas are charged with complicity to assault in the death of 34-year-old Angela Hall.

Kentucky State Police say Hall was beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed to death. State police spokesman Josh Lawson says Elston and Thomas made no efforts to contact police or render aid to Hall during the assault.

Police were notified Nov. 20 that Hall, who was from Oldham County, was missing.

John Downey and Bobby Long are charged with murder in Hall’s death. Joshua Sparkman is charged with assault.

It isn’t clear if any of the suspects have attorneys.
