2 Men Killed in Head-on Collision in Hopkins County

Authorities say two men were killed and a juvenile was airlifted to a local hospital after a head-on collision Wednesday in Hopkins County.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reports they responded to the scene of the wreck around 2:15 on US41A near Preston Bunch Road.

Authorities say the preliminary investigation found that 28 year old Charles L Moore, of Earlington, was driving a car and for an unknown reason was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of US41A when he collided head-on into a truck traveling southbound driven by 42 year old Jeffery T Oldham, of Dawson Springs.

Moore and Oldham were both pronounced deceased at the scene by Hopkins County Coroner Dennis Mayfield. Police indicate a juvenile passenger in Oldham’s vehicle was airlifted to St. Mary’s in Evansville for treatment. The juvenile’s condition is unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Madisonville Police Department, Medical Center Ambulance Service, the Earlington Fire Department and Madisonville Fire Department.
