UPD: 71 Year Old Uniontown Man Facing Multiple Charges After Police Chase

A 71 year old Uniontown man is behind bars facing several charges after leading local police on a high speed chase earlier today.

Uniontown Police Chief Jeffery Hart tells WMSK News they attempted to stop Jackie D. Winters around 9:35 a.m. Wednesday for an active arrest warrant for Failure to Appear. He says Winters refused to stop, leading the Uniontown Police Department on a pursuit that reached speeds of 70 MPH in Uniontown and 95 MPH in the rural areas. Chief Hart says Winters was finally taken into custody when he was forced to stop at a roadblock setup by the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Morganfield Police Dept on Ky 130 at Baird’s Curve.

Winters was arrested and lodged in the Union County Detention Center on charges Service of a Bench Warrant for FTA, first degree Fleeing and Evading Police in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Disregarding a Stop Light, and two counts of Improper Passing.
