Two Owensboro residents facing drug-related charges

Two Owensboro residents were arrested for drug-related offenses during separate traffic stops Sunday.

Around 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Kentucky State Police Post 16 Henderson reports they conducted a traffic stop on US HWY 60 for failing to use a turn signal and careless driving on a vehicle driven by 39 year old James Larkins. During the investigation, police say Larkins was arrested and booked into the Daviess County Detention Center for DUI aggravated, first degree possession of controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and the two offenses previous mentioned.

The second arrest occurred around 9:30 p.m. Sunday during a traffic safety checkpoint at KY 405 at Eastview Elementary School. According to KSP, 28 year old Christen Stewart was arrested and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center for her second offense of trafficking marijuana less than 8 ounces and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.

No other details about the arrests were released by state police.
