Two Daviess County residents killed in crash with UPS Truck

Two Daviess County residents were killed Wednesday afternoon when authorities say their vehicle crashed into a UPS truck.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports 25 year old Edward Davis and 24 year old Sarah Fitzgerald, both of Philpot, were pronounced dead on the scene of the crash by the Daviess County Coroner.

According to the sheriff’s office, the double fatality occurred around 12:30 in the 5600 block of Highway 54 when a UPS Delivery truck, driven by Miles Glin of Owensboro, was making a left hand turn into the Kangaroo Express parking lot and pulled into the path of a Ford Escort driven by Davis.

Authorities say Glin was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Davis and Fitzgerald were not wearing seat belts, according to the sheriff’s report.

The sheriff’s department was assisted at the scene by the Thruston and East Daviess County Fire Departments and Yellow EMS.
