KSP Arrests Tennessee Man on Forgery and ID Theft Charges

NEWS RELEASE

Kuttawa, KY. (October 7, 2016) The Kentucky State Police stopped a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche traveling eastbound on Interstate 24 near the 46 mile marker, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at approximately 12:12 P.M. for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop Trooper First Class T.J. Williams observed several indicators of criminal activity. Tpr. Williams obtained consent to search the vehicle. During the search Trooper Williams located and seized, $55,571 in cash.

After investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Eleazar O. Cruz, 35, of McDonald, Tennessee was subsequently arrested and charged with; Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree – Identify (Class D Felony), and Theft of Identity (Class D Felony)

The investigation is continuing by Trooper First Class T.J. Williams.

Eleazar O. Cruz was lodged in the Caldwell County Detention Facility.
