UPDATE:

DAVIESS CO., KY – (WMSK) A third body has been recovered from the Ohio River near a boat ramp in Owensboro.

Media outlets report the Daviess County sheriff confirmed the body was found Thursday morning near the Little Hurricane boat ramp.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police were already conducting an investigation after two bodies were recovered Wednesday from the Ohio River.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports they recovered the unidentified remains of a male subject around 3:00 p.m. Wednesday from the Ohio River between Troy, Indiana and Owensboro.

According to the sheriff’s office, Indiana State Police also recovered an unidentified female from the Ohio River at Troy, Indiana around Noon Wednesday.

Authorities indicate both bodies appear to be that of a middle aged male and female. Police say the female recovered by ISP has distinguishing tattoos on her body.

Although it has not been determined at this time if the two cases are connected, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office indicates it is certainly possible.

An autopsy of the male subject recovered by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office will be conducted today (Thursday) by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville.

It is unknown at this time, if authorities believe the third body could be connected to the other two bodies found Wednesday.
