Sheriff’s Office Investigating Residential Burglary in Smith Mills

Authorities in Henderson County are investigating a residential burglary in Smith Mills.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reports sometime overnight an unknown individual broke in the back door of a home being remodeled in the 62-hundred block of Highway 136 West and stole over 14-hundred dollars worth of items, including a 50 inch Vizio flat-screen television, two men’s watches and a large amount of coins.
At this time, there are no known suspects.
Authorities say the residence belongs to Chelsea Meyer.

HCSO: Henderson Co. Jail Inmate charged for promoting contraband for bringing in drugs and tobacco

An inmate at the Henderson County Jail is facing several charges after an investigation by the Henderson Deputy Jailers, Henderson Sheriff’s Deputies and the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force into inmates attempting to bring in illegal drugs and tobacco into the Henderson County Detention Center.
