HENDERSON CITY POLICE SAY THEY HAVE ARRESTED A MORGANFIELD MAN
FOLLOWING AN EARLY MORNING INCIDENT SUNDAY AT GREEN STREET STORAGE.
OFFICER WADE DENTON SAYS HE APPROCHED TWO SUSPICIOUS INDIVIDUALS
EARLY SUNDAY AT THE STORAGE SITE ON SOUTH GREEN STREET. ONE OF THE
SUBJECTS LATER IDENTIFIED AS 46-YEAR OLD DANIEL CARTER ALLEGEDLY
PROVIDED OFFICERS WITH A FALSE NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH WHEN ASKED
FOR HIS I.D. CARTER TOLD POLICE HE DID NOT HAVE ANY FORM OF I.D. WITH HIM.
HOWEVER, DURING A SEARCH OF CARTER’S PERSON OFFICERS LOCATED AN
I.D. CARD IN A WALLET FOUND IN HIS BACK POCKET. INSIDE THE WALLET POLICE
SAY THEY ALSO FOUND A SMALL BAGGIE CONTAINING A CRYSTAL LIKE
SUBSTANCE THAT FIELD TESTED POSITIVE FOR METH.
CARTER WAS READ HIS RIGHTS AND AGREED TO SPEAK WITH OFFICERS.
POLICE SAY HE STATED THE BAGGIE WAS HIS AND CONTAINED
METH HE HAD USED TWO WEEKS AGO. CARTER WAS CHARGED WITH POSSESSION
OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE FIRST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE METH AND GIVING
POLICE FALSE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION.
