Authorities have identified the father and son who were killed after their vehicle was struck by a train in Robards.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office identified the two men as Basten Johnson, 60, and Basi Johnson, 35, both of Orlando, Florida.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, when a northbound train struck a black Mercedes-Benz that had pulled into its path. The Sheriff’s Office said that the elder Johnson was driving, while his son was in the passenger seat.
Emergency crews from the Henderson County Rescue Squad, Robards Fire Department, Deaconess EMS, and the Henderson County Coroner’s Office all responded at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
