A Webster County woman flown to an Evansville hospital after a single-vehicle wreck that occurred around 3:30 p.m. Monday on State Route 139 in Caldwell County.
Kentucky State Police say the preliminary investigation revealed that 49 year old Lillian Martin, of Providence, was driving northbound on State Route 139 south of Shady Grove when she lost control of her car and went off the left side of the roadway and struck a sign. Police say the vehicle then came back onto the roadway and stopped, blocking both lanes of traffic.
Martin, who police say was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported by helicopter to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment of injuries.
KSP was assisted at the scene by the Fredonia Fire and Rescue, Caldwell County EMS, Crittenden County EMS, Princeton Fire Department, State Highway Department and Air Evac.
