KSP POST 1 NEWS RELEASE
Trooper Lewie Dodd conducted a traffic stop near the 44mm on Interstate 24 in Lyon County KY. The vehicle was operated by Joseph Sommerfelt of Nashville, TN. The passenger was identified as Weston Danks of Knoxville, TN. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately 142 pounds of marijuana in several suitcases, with an approximate street value of $280,000. Additionally $9750 cash was located in the vehicle. Danks and Sommerfelt were arrested for trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Lewie Dodd.
