Kentucky Supreme Court Upholds Bevin Administration’s Win in Case Against Unlicensed Abortion Clinic

NEWS RELEASE

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 25, 2016) – Below is a statement from Gov. Matt Bevin on today’s Kentucky Supreme Court ruling in favor of the Bevin Administration in its lawsuit against Eubanks & Marshall of Lexington, P.S.C. to prohibit it from operating an unlicensed abortion facility.

“We are pleased that the Kentucky Supreme Court has upheld the Court of Appeals’ decision recognizing that an unlicensed abortion clinic is prohibited from performing abortions. The laws of Kentucky matter and must be followed, even when individuals, corporations or lower court judges think otherwise.”

“This was the proper and necessary ruling to ensure that the health and safety of women in the Commonwealth are protected.”
