Hopkins Co. man charged with trafficking meth and numerous other drug-related offenses

After a two month narcotics investigation, authorities arrested a Dawson Springs man on charges of trafficking meth and multiple other drug-related offenses.

According to the Madisonville/Hopkins County Vice Narcotics Unit a search warrant was executed around 10:45 a.m. on Friday at 970 Shell Poe Road in Dawson Springs. During the search, police say the found and seized over a half pound of methamphetamine, a bag of powder cocaine, synthetic drugs, hydrocodone, 2 klonopin, several items of drug paraphernalia, a rifle, two handguns and a substantial amount of cash.

Authorities arrested and charged 31 year old Jada Egbert, who lives at the residence, with two counts of Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine) Over 2 Grams, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Meth) Under 2 Grams, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Cocaine), Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified), Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (Drug Unspecified), Possession of Synthetic Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

In addition, police report 46 year old Jesse Childress, of the same address, was charged with Possession of a Handgun By a Convicted Felon.
