Henderson woman charged with DUI and possessing meth

A Henderson woman is facing a DUI and drug possession charges after police say they received a call from school personnel that she appeared to be driving under the influence.

According to Henderson Police, around 8:15 Thursday morning school personnel at Bend Gate Elementary School reported that 35 year old Sarah Mathias was pulling out of the parking lot and appeared to be driving under the influence. Mathias was pulled over by police on US 60 East, and officers say she appeared very jittery and under the influence of drugs. During a consented search of her vehicle, officers say they found methamphetamine.

Mathias was taken into custody and booked into the Henderson County Detention Center for DUI, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), No Registration Plates and No Insurance 1st Offense.
