Henderson ‘Best in Kentucky’ Poll Winner

Henderson was recently chosen as the ‘Best in Kentucky’ in a poll of reader picks in the April Edition of Kentucky Living Magazine

Public Information Officer Donna Stinnett says in a release Henderson’s beautiful spots, such as John James Audubon Stat Park and the Henderson riverfront, stood out for readers of the Kentucky Living Magazine in the public’s “Best in Kentucky” feature that’s part of the April issue.

In addition, she says so did the W.C. Handy Blues & Barbeque Festival which was chosen by readers for the “Best Music Festival” and the King Highway bluegrass band was a finalist in the “Kentucky Musical Group” category.

According to Stinnett, the Henderson Community theatre was honored in the “Community Theater” category and The Depot Community room’s annual Spooks & Legends Tour gained recognition in the “Haunted Tour/Walk” Category.

2nd Street Treats won best “Ice Cream Shop” and Ruby Moon Vineyards & Winery and Metzger’s Tavern were finalists respectively in the “Winery” and “Dive/Diner/Drive-In” categories.

Stinnett says the John James Audubon Park, home of the world-class artwork of its namesake, was actually a double winner and for different reasons. The park was the winner in the “Best Museum” category and runner-up in “Outdoor Recreation Spot” category.
