Derby Day Breakfast at Waveland State Historic Site

LEXINGTON, Ky. – When you think of Derby Day you think of history, horses and Kentucky.  Waveland State Historic Site in Lexington will be hosting a very special Derby Breakfast on Derby Day on May 7. Guests will have two options to choose from.

One breakfast option will be in the newly renovated barn, tent and grounds with three seatings, 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The price is $25 per person. Reservations are required.

Another limited elegant breakfast will be offered inside the mansion, served on fine china and served by period-dressed interpreters.  Breakfast will include a tour of the mansion highlighting how Waveland influenced horse racing in Lexington.  The price for this event is $50 per person.  This event will be at 10 a.m. Seating is limited and reservations are required.

Waveland State Historic Site is an antebellum house on the edge of Lexington. Tours are offered Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1-5 p.m. with the last tour starting at 4 p.m. The site is closed Monday and Tuesday. Admission for the tours is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 for students; children 6 and under are free.
