PITCHER DANIEL PONCE de LEON OPTIONED TO MEMPHIS (AAA)
ST. LOUIS, MO, April 24, 2019 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to today’s series finale that they have activated outfielder Harrison Bader (right hamstring strain) from the 10-day Injured List and optioned right-handed pitcher Daniel Ponce de Leon to Memphis (AAA).
Bader, whose injury was back-dated to April 14, was batting .179 (7-for-39) with 2 HR’s and 5 RBI in his 13 games played to begin the season. Ponce de Leon fanned seven in 5.0 innings pitched last night in his start against Milwaukee.
