21 year old Crittenden County man injured in wreck involving deer

A Crittenden County man was injured when authorities say a deer crashed through the windshield of his pickup truck after it was hit by a car.

According to Kentucky State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a passenger car was traveling east on US 60 around 11:00 Sunday night when it hit a deer, causing it to become airborne. As the deer was airborne, authorities say a Dodge Ram 2500 driven by 21 year old Chad Jackson of Marion, KY hit the deer and it entered the cab of the pickup truck.

Jackson was transported by ambulance to Crittenden Health Systems and was then flown to Deaconess in Evansville, IN for treatment. State Police say the driver of the passenger car was not injured.

KSP was assisted at the scene by the Crittenden County EMS, Constable Billy Arflac and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
