Police believe disabled missing Indiana woman in danger

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Police in southern Indiana say they’re looking for a 19-year-old severely disabled woman who’s been missing since Sunday.

Evansville police say they believe someone removed Aleah Beckerle from her home and she is in danger. The state of Indiana has issued a silver alert and Evansville police are asking anyone with information about the case to come forward. Authorities say Beckerle can’t walk or communicate effectively and needs medical attention.

The Evansville Courier and Press reports Beckerle’s wheelchair wasn’t taken from her home. Supporters have scattered around Evansville looking for her over the past few days. They’ve also put up fliers with her photo and information and started a Facebook group called “Bring Aleah Home.”

Beckerle’s grandmother, Lydia LaRue, says the family has “got to have her back.”
