NWS Radar Near Henderson/Evansville Out of Service for Upgrades

Weather radar KVWX near Evansville Indiana to get an upgrade.

The weather radar located in Owensville Indiana will be down for approximately 4 days starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 14th for technicians to install
an important upgrade.

During this outage, radar coverage will be available from surrounding radars including:

KPAH – Paducah KY
KHPX – Fort Campbell KY
KLVX – Fort Knox KY
KIND – Indianapolis IN
KILX – Lincoln IL
KLSX – St. Louis MO

This is the first of four major upgrades, known as service life extension projects, planned in the next 5 years to replace and
refurbish major components of the radars.

The National Weather Service in Paducah apologizes sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
