Local authorities are continuing to investigate an armed bank robbery that occurred in Morganfield last week.
The bank robbery occurred around Noon Wednesday at Fifth Third Bank when a masked man armed with a handgun entered the bank and demanded money from the teller, according to Morganfield Police Sergeant Geoffrey Deibler. The subject fled the scene with approximately $10,000 cash. However, Sgt. Deibler told WMSK News the armed robber dropped a couple of thousand dollars as he fled from the bank.
Sgt. Deibler tells WMSK News today that law enforcement agencies are following up on surveillance video from businesses in the area of the bank, and investigators are continuing to follow up on all leads.
