A local doctor, his estranged-wife and her boyfriend were arrested Wednesday on various drug charges, as well as other offenses.
A joint investigation by the Morganfield Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of Dr. William B. Bebout of Morganfield. Morganfield Police Officer Zac Render tells WMSK News Dr. Bebout was charged with Cultivating and Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, all firearm enhanced.
Union County Sheriff’s Deputy Shawn Elder tells WMSK News Dr. Bebout’s estranged-wife, 39 year Heather M. Bebout of Morganfield and her boyfriend, 31 year old Daymond M. Duncan of Henderson, were also arrested and charged with Trafficking and Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Deputy Elder reports Heather Bebout is facing additional charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking Under $500 and Criminal Mischief. He says all narcotic charges are firearm enhanced.
According to Deputy Elder, a joint investigation of signs that were stolen from Highway 666 in Morganfield and vandalism of the Welcome sign to Union County on US 60 East near the Henderson County line led to the execution of a search warrant at the residence of Heather at 1045 Highway 130 North around 10:00 Wednesday morning where authorities found the stolen road signs that were taken July 26th and July 27th. He says officers received emails that confirm that Heather and her juvenile son had spray painted the Union County Welcome sign and unlawfully took the road signs from Highway 666.
Also during the search of the residence, Deputy Elder reports authorities found marijuana, meth, drug paraphernalia and items consistent with trafficking meth.
Meanwhile, Morganfield Police Officer Zac Render reports the joint investigation conducted on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 eventually led them to the home of Dr. Bebout at 403 East Main Street where during a search authorities found equipment indicative of an indoor marijuana grow operation, along with marijuana, drug paraphernalia and dozens of firearms, all of which were seized by officers.
All three subjects were lodged in the Union County Detention Center.
According to Officer Render, more suspects will be pursued and charged in this case. He says this is yet another operation to further the safety and security of the residents of Union County by the Morganfield Police and Union County Sheriff’s Departments.
