According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, they a SEMI crash reported on I-69/the Pennyrile Parkway in HOPKINS County about ½ mile north of the KY 281/Island Ford Road Interchange.
Early reports indicate the southbound semi ran off the roadway, through the median and crashed through guardrail on the northbound side of the roadway.
The roadway is not blocked at this time. However, the northbound lanes will likely have to be blocked to allow recovery of the truck.
Northbound motorists should be alert for emergency personnel working along the shoulder just north of the I-69 Exit 114 Interchange (Formerly Pennyrile Parkway Exit 44).
Once a wrecker crew arrives the roadway will lilkely be closed for about an hour to allow the truck to be removed. Suggested detour is via US 41 between Madisonville and Hanson.
