KSP: Two Ejected from Vehicle in Wreck on the Pennyrile Parkway

NEWS RELEASE

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (July 12, 2016)The Kentucky State Police is investigating a single-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway, at approximately the one mile-marker, on Tuesday, July 12, at 11:15 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Demisha Wilford, 28, Hopkinsville, was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on the parkway when she lost control of the vehicle on the wet road. The vehicle exited the southbound lanes and traveled through the median. It continued across both northbound lanes and exited the northbound shoulder of the parkway. The vehicle traveled down an earthen embankment and struck a ditch, ejecting both occupants. The vehicle came to rest in the ditch, off the roadway.

Ms. Wilford was transported via ambulance to the Gateway Medical Center. She was then flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment. Her passenger, Myesha Hill, 23, Hopkinsville, was transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper Rob Austin is investigating the collision. The Christian County Sheriff’s Department and Christian County/Hopkinsville EMS assisted at the scene.
