KSP POST 1 NEWS RELEASE
(Kuttawa, KY) – The Kentucky State Police, Post 1 Mayfield received a call of a single vehicle collision on January 15, 2016 at 05:55AM. on US 62 near Bent Tree Lane in Kuttawa.
Preliminary investigation shows that Denzel L. Aldrich, 18 of Kuttawa, was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro traveling east on US 62 and attempted to pass a tractor trailer in a no passing zone. Aldrich lost control of his vehicle sliding into the median and then re-entered the east bound lane skidding across the lane and coming to final rest in a ditch. Aldrich was partially ejected from his vehicle due to not wearing a seatbelt. Aldrich was transported by the Lyon County EMS to the Caldwell County Hospital emergency room for treatment of his injuries.
The collision investigation continues by Trooper First Class Lewie Dodd. KSP was assisted on the scene by the Lyon County EMS.
