HCSO releases identity of man killed in Henderson County wreck

Authorities have released the identity of the person killed in a wreck Tuesday morning in Henderson County.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office identified the person killed as 30 year old Ryan Sears of Brooksville, Florida.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the US 425 and Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway Southbound around 6:30 Tuesday morning and upon arrival deputies found a pickup truck overturned in the median of the interchange. Upon further investigation, deputies found Sears had been thrown from his truck and the deputy began CPR until Henderson County EMS arrived, at which time Sears was pronounced dead on the scene.

Upon speaking to witnesses, a deputy learned there was a previous collision on the parkway between this pickup truck and a passenger car driven by 43 year old Shawn Uthe of Hartford, Kentucky.

The sheriff’s office indicated to media the fatal wreck was the result of a road rage incident after Sears bumped the car and then turned around on the parkway and fled. Authorities reported that when Sears went to exit the parkway, he lost control of his truck causing it to flip-over several times and ejecting him.

The parkway at KY 425 was shut down for a couple of hours Tuesday morning while authorities investigated the crash.
