HCSO: Owensboro man charged with DUI, drug possession after traffic stop in Henderson County

A traffic stop in Henderson County landed an Owensboro man in jail facing DUI and drug possession charges.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted the traffic stop around 12:50 Saturday morning in the Shoney’s parking lot on US 41 North and determined the driver 24 year old Andrew Berry was under the influence.

After conducting a field sobriety test, Berry was taken into custody and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center for DUI aggravating circumstances and failure to produce an insurance card.

While being processed at the jail, authorities say they found Berry trying to hide Hydrocodone pills. He was additionally charged for first degree possession a controlled substance – drug unspecified and prescription controlled substance not in proper container.
