Autopsy results show Saline County, Illinois woman died of asphyxiation

Smoke inhalation has been determined as the cause of death of an Illinois woman whose body was pulled from a burning structure over the weekend, according to the Saline County Coroner’s Office.

Coroner Jerry Watson reports to WMSK News the preliminary autopsy conducted Monday on the body of 52 year old Rhonda Uzzle of Harrisburg revealed she died of asphyxiation due to smoke inhalation from the residential fire.
Harrisburg firefighters were called to her residence on South Granger around 4:45 Saturday morning, where the coroner says smoke was reported coming from her mobile home.

The fire is still under investigation by the Saline County Coroner’s Office, Harrisburg Fire Department and the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.
