Work Continues at I-69/Pennyrile Parkway/KY 56 Sebree Exit 63 Interchange in Webster County

As a reminder, the new I-69/Pennyrile Parkway/KY 56 Exit 63 Interchange at Sebree in WEBSTER County continues to be an active work zone.

While the new ramps creating a diamond interchange have been open since before Thanksgiving, the contractor is continuing a variety of work along the new ramps. This work zone includes shoulder and lane restrictions along the main line of I-69/The Pennyrile Parkway and the ramps to facilitate the ongoing work.

Motorists are reminded that with the new ramps open the exit points have changed. The actual ramp exit points are about 1/4th mile back from the old toll booth style ramps.

As finish work continues around this new interchange motorists should be alert for changes the work zone configuration that may be required to facilitate ongoing construction activities.

Due to the onset of cold weather that may prohibit paving activities, final completion of the interchange may have to wait until warmer weather in spring. The contractor plans to continue working as weather allows through about Christmas to complete as much of the work as possible this year.

Dumey Construction of Benton, MO, is the prime contractor on the $10 million interchange reconstruction project.

Pennyrile Parkway Exit 63 is one of several interchanges along the I-69 Corridor in Kentucky that were originally designed to accommodate drivers who were slowing and stopping at toll plazas. The new diamond design will better accommodate vehicles exiting and entering at 70 mph Interstate speeds.
