Whitfield Receives Distinguished Service Award

NEWS RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, was a co-recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Service Award during the National Energy Resources Organization (NERO)’s Annual Awards Dinner Wednesday evening. Whitfield received the honor along with House Minority Whip, Steny Hoyer of Maryland.

“I am honored to receive this award,” Whitfield said. “My time on the Energy and Commerce Committee as well as my time as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy and Power has allowed me to see the vital role energy plays in fueling our nation. From keeping electricity bills affordable for residents everywhere to keeping us competitive in the global marketplace, most everything in our day-to-day lives is impacted by our access to energy. We must do everything we can to ensure our continued emergence as a global energy superpower and I remain committed to making sure we use all of the energy resources at our nation’s disposal in order to accomplish this goal.”
